What is NV nitriding?

Nitriding is a metal treating process that hardens the surface by diffusing nitrogen into the surface of a metal.
NV nitriding is our original metal surface treatment technique that combines conventional gas nitriding with gas activation.

Characteristics of NV Nitriding

The high fluidity and activation effect of the gas contribute to an even, uniform formation of the nitrided layer on contact points and lines.

We propose various processes for general gas nitriding conditions as well as for special requirements according to our customers’ needs. Please feel free to inquire for further information.

Proposing processes for your needs

Suppress warping caused by heat treatment

Low-temperature nitriding

Nitriding can be performed in the lowest possible temperature range (starting from slightly lower than 400℃), which prevents warping, surface roughness, and reduced hardness in the base metal.

This process is optimal for precision parts and steel sheet products.

Add corrosion resistance

NV nitriding + Oxidation

The nitride coating and oxide coating on ferrous metals that are prone to rusting together improve corrosion resistance. The coating also adds effects such as oil retention and initial bedding-in properties.

Harden the metal without forming a compound layer

No compound layer

Our process can control the thickness of the compound layer on the treated surface. Increasing surface hardness is also possible without forming a compound layer.

Post-treatment swelling is minimized, which prevents cracking and chipping from the compound layer.

Make filters and meshes last longer

NV-Nano

Uniform treatment is possible even for fine meshes. Treated metal features increased durability, being resistant to breakage and deformation.

Make dies last longer

NV nitriding extends the life and cycle time of dies used in harsh use conditions, such as aluminum extrusion and die-casting.

This process can be implemented at customer sites. The on-site system that contributes to reducing both processing costs and die transportation costs is also a proven choice of our customers.
